one giant leap for organic coolness
Not a lot can prepare you for space exploration, or the possibility of mixing it up with aliens, but when NASA ensured us they’d developed a rocket to run solely on carrot juice and peanuts, we offered up our best man to venture into the unknown.
The recommended preparation for space travel included a vigorous daily routine, consisting of a steady (but enjoyable) dose of Tecate, a daily surf, sausage sandwiches, and watching Seinfeld re-runs. Whilst studying the space traveller’s handbook, we found the most important guideline on page 3 - “only the coolest of threads can be worn in outer space” – at that moment we knew, we had only one option - to wear Monkey & the BrownMan threads.
Sporting the inter-galactically recognized symbol for cool, and protected under the peril resistant cotton, Monkey & the BrownMan set forth on the adventure of a lifetime, with one specific goal “seek out the coolest T shirts in the known universe”. Unfortunately, (due to the top secret nature of our mission) we can’t share all of our experiences, except for one…. careful consideration was given to the selection of threads to be worn on such an epic journey. If by chance the opportunity presented itself, what message would we give to the other life forms? The answer of course is “free your mind”, as this would start a wave of positive energy across the cosmos!
Scale the towering heights of fame
With one final costume change, and a fresh 'creativi-T', 'M&BM' takes a deep breathe and launches himself onstage. The roar of the crowd, and the blinding lights pale in comparison to the sound of his beating heart, as the fear of his exploding fame threatens to take hold.
Gibson Les Paul in hand, his good-luck charm, and one true love on the lonely road to rockdom, 'M&BM' delicately strokes the strings as he plays the intro cords to his encore song, the last concert, and the end of a sell-out world tour.
Sweat soaking his organic T, the thousands of hours of garage practise were paying off. He never thought he would see past the early stages of playing gigs in local pubs, but the call of bright city lights became a reality, and he thanks his lucky stars that he got to explore the world, and experience the dream.
As the final note to his biggest musical hit comes to a close, 'M&BM' turns to leave the stage, still in awe of the incredible site of the Eiffel Tower, Paris, the setting for his only open air concert, and the beginning of a journey so big and unexplored, a lifetime of rock history evolving before him.
